Smart Home Mobile App: Development Process

An easy-to-use mobile app that included a wide range of functions to control Smart Home devices.
The app was developed for the German and Swedish markets.

The software was built with React Native for iOS and Android mobile operating systems. React Native helped speed up the development process and reduce the budget.

Configuration
The user has the opportunity to collect all of the devices in a Smart Home in one application and configure it for easy and convenient use.
Dashboard
The control panel functions as the main page of the application. The user has full control of the smart devices as well as all of the information about them. Notifications are available via SMS, Push-Notifications, and Email.

Smart Home App: Events

The user has quick access to six programmed events from the control panel:
  • Automatic light switching on,
  • Light brightness control,
  • Heating control,
  • Monitoring the well-being of the elderly,
  • Outside the house,
  • Journeys/vacations.
Three events can be configured according to a specific time schedule.
The settings of heating control, switching on the lights, and monitoring the well-being of the elderly, can be easily changed, and modified at any time.
Events Setting
All events have predefined settings, but the user can modify them with their own choice and needs.
Notifications
If the user is outside the house, they will receive notifications about the status of their premises. When a task is activated through the control panel, for example, smoke or carbon monoxide detection, hacking or flooding — the user receives instant Push-Notifications, SMSs, or an Email depending on their selected settings.

Additionally, for our client, a landing page was developed with a detailed description of all of the advantages and functionality of the application, as well as the option to purchase devices for a Smart Home.
